Same-Day Sewage Cleanup in East Tennessee
Free inspection • All insurance accepted • IICRC certified
Did a toilet, a floor drain or the main sewer line back up into your home? Sewage is not safe to mop up yourself. We remove it, disinfect what stays and dry the structure. Call any hour. The inspection is free.
How we handle sewage cleanup in East Tennessee
Keep everyone, including pets, out of the affected area, and do not run water down the drains. Then call. Someone answers at any hour. In the Tri-Cities our emergency crews are on site within 60 minutes, and we reach the Knoxville corridor the same day.
Our crew wears protective suits, gloves, boots and respirators, and we keep the work area closed off, so nothing gets tracked through the rest of the house.
We extract the water and waste first. Carpet, pad and the bottom of the drywall that soaked up sewage cannot be disinfected, so they come out.
Everything that stays, including floors and framing, gets cleaned and disinfected while air scrubbers run.
Then we dry the structure and check it every day until it is dry. We write the estimate in Xactimate, the same software insurance companies use, and we work directly with your insurance company on the claim. If something is not covered, financing is available.

Sewage cleanup questions we answer most
The ones we get on almost every job.
What can I keep, and what has to be thrown out?
Hard, non porous things usually stay: tile, sealed concrete, glass, metal, most furniture frames. Porous material that soaked up sewage usually goes, which means carpet and pad, particle board, insulation and the lower drywall. Anything soft that got wet is a judgment call and we will walk it with you rather than decide it for you.
Is it safe for us to stay in the house?
Keep everyone out of the affected rooms, including pets, and especially anyone pregnant, elderly or with a breathing condition. The rest of the house is usually fine once we have the area sealed and air scrubbers running. If the backup reached a bedroom or the only bathroom, plan on staying elsewhere for a night or two.
Can I just clean it up myself with bleach?
We would rather you did not. Bleach on a porous surface takes the color out and leaves the bacteria in the material underneath, and a mop moves contaminated water into rooms that were clean. If it is a cup of water on tile, clean it. If it soaked carpet or ran under a wall, call us.
Does homeowners insurance cover a sewage backup?
Often only if you carry sewer backup cover, which is usually an add on rather than part of the base policy. Check your declarations page or ask your agent. Either way we document what we found, price the scope in Xactimate and build the file your insurer asks for, and filing the claim is yours to do.
Will the smell go away once the cleanup is done?
The smell tracks the source. Once the contaminated material is out, the surfaces are disinfected and the structure is dry, the odor normally goes with it. If something still smells after drying, tell us, because it usually means water reached somewhere we have not opened yet.
